INDIANA — A 20-year-old man died early Saturday after being stabbed during an apparent domestic dispute on Indianapolis’ east side, police said.
Breyner Perez Matute was taken to Community East Hospital shortly before 7 a.m. on September 13 with injuries initially reported as gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving, according to authorities.
Investigators later determined Matute had been stabbed in the 300 block of North Shortridge Road. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives believe the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute.
All parties involved have been identified, and a person of interest has been arrested following consultation with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, police confirmed.
