Indianapolis police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Saturday night on the city’s northeast side.
According to IMPD, officers from the East District responded to the 3900 block of Delmont Drive around 10:55 p.m. after reports of a person shot.
When they arrived, officers found an adult male inside a residence with gunshot wounds. EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation, and the Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency is assisting with evidence collection. The Marion County Coroner’s Office will determine the exact cause and manner of death.
The victim’s identity will be released once next-of-kin have been notified.
