MANHATTAN, N.Y. — Two men were slashed during a violent fight on a Manhattan subway train early Tuesday morning, according to the NYPD.
The incident happened around 6 a.m. on a southbound No. 4 train near Union Square. Police said the altercation escalated into a physical fight, leaving both men injured.
A 40-year-old man suffered slash wounds to his neck, arm, and stomach, while a 43-year-old man was slashed in the knee. Both men were taken into custody and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Authorities said it’s still unclear whether the slashing occurred inside the subway car or at the station.
Several commuters reported seeing bloody footprints at Union Square station Tuesday morning, sharing images and updates on X.
