PHILADELPHIA — A quiet, late-summer stretch of weather is expected to continue across the Philadelphia area through the weekend.
Friday will start sunny with some scattered afternoon clouds and highs in the low 80s. A weak cold front to the north may bring enough instability for a few stray sprinkles, but umbrellas won’t be needed.

Saturday will see similar conditions, with highs in the low 80s, partly sunny skies, and the possibility of isolated sprinkles. Sunday is expected to be the warmest day, with highs in the mid-80s and partly to mostly sunny skies.
The work week ahead is forecast to remain seasonable and pleasant, maintaining this “boringly beautiful” pattern.
One concern, however, is the lack of rainfall. The Delaware Valley is seeing abnormally dry areas, with rainfall so far this month 1.08 inches below average and 4.51 inches below average for the year. Only 26.49 inches of rain have fallen since January, compared with 33.02 inches by this time last year. A little rain would be welcome, though no significant precipitation is expected over the next seven days.
