Wharton woman dies after medical episode, crashes at PNC Bank Arts Center

HOLMDEL TOWNSHIP, N.J. — An 85-year-old Wharton Borough woman died Tuesday after suffering a medical episode and crashing in the parking lot of the PNC Bank Arts Center, New Jersey State Police said.

Troopers responded to the scene around 4:32 p.m., according to Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron, a State Police spokesperson.

Investigators determined the driver, identified as Nancy C. Johnston, was exiting the lot in a Subaru when she lost control after the episode. The vehicle struck a parked Ford Bronco and hit two pedestrians.

Johnston sustained fatal injuries, police confirmed. The two pedestrians were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
