PA, NY, NJ — A persistent weather pattern is keeping skies mostly sunny and dry across much of the region, with no significant rain expected through the weekend and into next week.

Temperatures today will reach the upper 70s to around 80 degrees, slightly above average for this time of year. Satellite and radar imagery show mainly clear skies along the East Coast, stretching west to the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys.

Tonight will be mostly clear, with lows in the 40s in the coolest inland areas and 50s to around 60 degrees elsewhere. Friday will bring partly to mostly sunny skies, with highs in the 70s and slightly cooler conditions along south- and east-facing shorelines.

The weekend looks dry overall, though a few clouds or minimal drizzle could occur overnight or early in the mornings. High pressure will dominate until Sunday, before a weak cold front moves south from Upstate New York and Eastern Canada, likely bringing only scattered clouds or a shower or two. Saturday is expected to remain partly sunny, with highs in the 70s and cooler temperatures near the coast. Sunday will see morning low clouds and patchy drizzle giving way to partly sunny skies, with the chance of isolated showers late in the day or evening.

Looking ahead, the dry weather pattern is expected to continue next week. High pressure building into New England and Eastern Canada will maintain northeast and east winds, keeping inland areas warmer and coastal areas cooler. Temperatures will be near or slightly above seasonal averages. Forecasters will continue to monitor the Southeast Coast for a potential low-pressure system, though any development remains speculative at this stage.
