A man has been sentenced in connection with the brutal 2021 killing of a south suburban teenager whose body was set on fire and left in a Harvey alley.
On October 28, 2021, Isaiah Davis, 17, was shot and killed. Prosecutors said his body was burned and abandoned in the alley.
Faheem Norwood, then 34, was arrested in January 2022 and initially faced multiple charges, including murder, dismembering a body, concealing a homicide, and abusing a corpse.
After nearly four years, a jury convicted Norwood in March 2025 of concealing a homicide and abusing a corpse but acquitted him of murder and dismemberment.
In August 2025, a judge sentenced Norwood to 13 years in prison — 10 years for concealing a homicide and 3 years for abusing a corpse.
Norwood’s attorney claimed the shooting was an accident while the two were playing a game. However, the teen’s mother said she helped piece together evidence that led to Norwood’s arrest.
