MANNINGTON, W.Va. — A Marion County school bus was involved in a vehicle accident Monday morning while five students were onboard, authorities said.
According to a Marion County 911 official, the crash happened around 6:30 a.m. on Margaret Road near the intersection of Whetstone Road in Mannington.
Marion County School Superintendent Donna Heston confirmed that five students were on the bus at the time, but no injuries were reported.
“We are thankful for the response of first responders and local law enforcement this morning for the safety of our students,” Heston said. “We remind motorists to use caution and stay alert while on roads, particularly during the hours our school buses and student motorists are on the roads.”
One other vehicle was involved in the crash, and the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
