A 34-year-old man wanted for attempted murder in New Jersey was arrested in Harrisburg on Monday after police found him hiding inside a dryer, according to court records from both states.
Authorities said that around 8 p.m. on August 19, Daniel D. Wilson, who has listed addresses in Jersey City, New Jersey, and Harrisburg, shot a 31-year-old woman with a .40-caliber handgun on Woodward Street in Jersey City.
The victim managed to drive herself to Jersey City Medical Center with a gunshot wound to her left leg. While the number of shots fired remains unclear, officers recovered five shell casings from the scene. Police confirmed that the woman is expected to survive.
After being shown a photograph, the victim identified Wilson as the shooter.
On August 25, Harrisburg police responded to a domestic incident involving Wilson on the 1900 block of North 4th Street. When officers discovered he had an active New Jersey warrant, they called in the Dauphin County Crisis Response Team.
Police ordered Wilson to surrender peacefully, but he refused, resulting in a standoff. After obtaining a judge-approved search warrant, officers entered the home and found Wilson hiding inside a dryer.
Wilson now faces multiple charges in New Jersey, including attempted murder, three illegal weapons charges, and attempted aggravated assault. In Pennsylvania, he is also charged with resisting arrest.
Court records also show Wilson’s prior charges in Pennsylvania, including unlawful dissemination of intimate images, false identification to law enforcement, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and harassment.
As of Monday, Wilson remains in custody and is awaiting extradition to New Jersey.
