A crash involving utility poles and transformers closed part of Route 17 in Mahwah on the morning of Sept. 10, causing heavy traffic and major delays.

Mahwah Fire Rescue said in a Facebook post that Route 17 and Island Road were shut down as crews worked to secure the area.
